Say Moroni & Cheese!!
Friends this week has been long, but has had some amazing moments! Here are some stories :).
1st A quick honorable mention:
Yesterday we met this older couple who showed up for our 11 am tour. We talked with the wife first, but soon her husband came and introduced himself. One of the first things he said to us was "hey you guys believe in prophets --- I am a prophet." We were waiting for the laugh and "just kidding",... but it never came. Let's just say it was a very interesting next hour. During which I learned some of my "spiritual gifts". One of them being I apparently have the ability to leave my body, travel through air and then come back into my body. Who knew?! They were nice, though very very interesting conversations. Before we left they asked for a picture with us. As the picture was taken the man yelled "Moroni!!" He pronounced it like moroney. Too good. Thus Moroni & cheese!
The real highlight of the week!!:
I overheard our roommate say something this week- it was that "sometimes we might not receive blessings specific to the trial we're enduring, but blessings will always follow the trial." This really stuck out to me and was a point to ponder. Today I was able to see a portion of that sentiment. After HOURS in the teaching center trying to find help for our friend who was out of our physical reach, we left a little discouraged to give a tour. When we arrived, there were people already waiting, and they seemed like a good group. There was a couple from England, from Texas, some brothers from New Jersey, and a group of ladies from Pennsylvania who joined us 5 mins in. I don't know what it was, but this tour was just amazing. I felt so blessed and proud to be a messenger for our Father in Heaven of this great truth. The whole tour we were making our group laugh and at the same time spiritually uplifting. We were able to make genuine relationships with them. We shared things that everyone could relate to, including spiritual things tied to pioneers. We connected it all to Christ. And in return I found the spirit connecting me to Christ. At one point the man from England raised his hand and asked an inspired question. He asked, "why aren't there any crosses in this church building". As I began to answer, the spirit just poured into the room and into my soul. I told them that "first the most important thing to mention is that we wholeheartedly believe in the cross. Wholeheartedly. We truly believe that Christ did what he said He did. Without a doubt I know He suffered and died on the cross for each of us. Equally important, we know that He rose again. That He lives. And that is where we choose to put our focus and emphasis." This whole time I just felt the spirit so so strongly and found myself emotional as I bore my testimony of the reality of our Savior Jesus Christ. He did what He said He did. He lives. He loves me. It was a simple response, but it was grand to me. As I spoke, I looked around and saw that the spirit meant something to them. We were connected for those few moments and everyone around us seemed to just disappear. It was perfect. Something I don't ever want to forget. I can't deny what I felt.
So it seemed that although we found no miracles for our friend's specific situation, we did find blessings the rest of the day for our efforts in helping our Heavenly Father's children.
Heavenly Father loves us and is so aware of us- before, during, and after said trials.
God is indeed good!
