Bush Man

*wave* (a lot of people will start their emails with them saying hi in their assigned language guess it's a little different with sign language haha)

Okay so being a part of the temple square mission we have the unique opportunity to volunteer our time and serve at welfare square. Welfare square is the church's welfare program and is basically like a factory where different foods are made and packaged such as cheese, bread, jam, salsa, catsup, etc and then distributed to people who need it. This week we went down and I worked in both the powder section and cheese section. With the powder section I would take these 50 pound bags of cocoa powder and stack them. Then in the cheese section I did quite a few things but one being stacking 40 pound blocks of cheese. Needless to say I got a workout that day. My family should be so proud of me :).

Today was Pioneer day! It's a big deal in Utah that celebrates the pioneers arrival into the Salt Lake Valley.  Normally there are parades and I think even fireworks haha. Sadly due to covid that wasn't the case this year. So we settled for a mission activity where we went to one of the theatres in the visitor center and watched this movie called Legacy. It was fun to add something new in our day as well as watch a movie and eat lunch while visiting with a lot of the sisters in the mission.

We also had exchanges with our district leaders this week meaning we switched companions with them. It was so fun especially because it allowed for me to make bonds with more sisters. We also had some interesting encounters together. My district leader and I were on the square for one of our strolls on square. And we were walking around and just saw this man sticking his hands down into the bushes. We made the mistake of saying hi and wow it led us to quite the conversation. At one point as his hands were in the bushes he says "do you know what I'm doing" and at this point we'd been talking for about 5 minutes and both me and Sister Clower were a little scared and uncomfortable so I just bluntly said "No!" And he goes "in time you will, in time you will". Like what?! Needless to say his tone, what he was saying, and pretty much everything about him was so creepy! This was the short version of the story believe it or not!  We actually ended up calling security, lol. Don't worry though we were safe!

Because that was kind of creepy let's end this with a good quote, haha. I found it this week and it was from Elder Utchdorf and he says "The purpose of faith is not to change God's will but to empower us to act on God's will." I love love love this quote and it is such a good reminder to us all.

Love you guys! God is good!

Me and Sister Clower hiding from bush man!
