Hello!!!
Wow from waking up at 3 in the morning Wednesday to now being 3 days in and a lot has happened in between.
I have had so much information thrown at me and have really just been thrown right into the work. The adjustment from home to here has been... well...let's just say an adjustment, but I am already falling in love with temple square and can't wait for all that is to come.
My companion is Sister Bass. She is so great! Funny enough her name is Emma too so it looks like we're a perfect match! I also love President and Sister Larsen! They are so amazing and filled with so much love!
My days consist of quite a few things, one being online chats and phone calls. We can do those on our phone but we usually go to one of the tc (teaching center) buildings because they are a lot easier to work with. The online chat makes life as a missionary pretty easy in some ways in that the people we talk to are all people who initiated the interaction. That being said we do get a few crazy ones or people that just aren't there for the right reason but other than that it's been really good.
We also go on strolls meaning we walk around the square greeting people, answering questions, and giving tours. On my first day we were on a stroll we got called over by this interesting man to say the least. He asked to share a message with us and he ended up singing to us which he actually was pretty good but all in all it was a weird situation. To make a long story short he said he was a member and just went on and on for like 40 mins about random things that he thought we needed to hear about. Things like missionary work and marriage but it was a really weird vibe. We kept trying to end the conversation but nothing was working ahaha. Fun times haha.
Today was good for stroll though because we gave two tours and they went so well! Our first tour was to a man who got baptized recently. He was actually with the sister and her family who taught her. He was super sweet and was able to recognize the spirit that is here on temple square. After the tour he asked to take a picture with us so I'll be sure to attach it!
There is so much to share and so much to tell you all about but I will leave it at that and share more throughout my emails.
This week I have been tossed in so many different ways with so many different emotions. But there is one thing for sure God is good and is a constant whether we notice or not. The Book of Mormon is true and is one of the ways He calms the storm's and brings peace. That's been a big reminder for me these past couple of days. So I want to encourage you all to find time this week to sit down and take time to study the Book of Mormon and study with a purpose. I promise God delivers!
God is good! :)
Sister Mac
(a lot of sisters call me sister mac seeing as it's a lot easier to pronounce haha)
