Tears of Joy!
Friends hello!!
Wow, let me tell you it is starting to get cold here in the great Salt Lake. I'm just crossing my fingers Idaho prepared me for this. Then again I will be wearing a dress this time around.... soooooo wish me luck!
Yesterday I had the amazing opportunity to give the sweetest lady from California a virtual tour of Temple Square in ASL! For the tour we were able to do a quick exchange which allowed me to give the tour with another sister who is learning ASL. I was so grateful! Though we were so nervous, we prayed so hard beforehand that we could have the spirit with us and that the message could be clear. Friends I don't think I've ever seen someone so excited to see the temple over a screen in my life. This sweet woman literally started bouncing in her seat when I asked her if she was ready to see the temple. My heart was so happy. In the end our sign language was a little weak BUT the spirit was so so STRONG! The sisters texted us after saying "she cried 3 times out of joy!!!" and that we "seriously made her whole life today!" I just felt so lucky that we were able to share that joy with her. Temple Square really is so special! I feel so blessed to live in the shadow of this historic temple and to feel of the Spirit here in the heart of the city.
Something I read in my studies this week was this really amazing talk by Sheri L. Dew. So of course like always I want to share with you guys one of my favorite things she said. Yes it is another quote...In speaking about Christ she said "As our testimony of Him expands and matures, we begin to care more about life forever than life today, and we have no desire but to do what He needs us to do and to live as He has asked us to live." What a profound statement, am I right?! I think at times it's easy to hold on to the things we can see or that are more immediate but as we come to understand and trust in Christ and His vision for us our grasp shifts and our lives change. He loves us so so much!
God is good!
