"Ooo I like it"
Oh my, what a week friends!! This week we got out of quarantine, but only to send ourselves into even more chaos with transfers! Sister Bradshaw is officially out of training and is no longer with me :/
My new companion is Sister Llorens and she is amazing! I love her already!! Along with this new companion I also got a new assignment. I am now one of the coordinators. This means I work in planning the daily schedules of over 160 sister missionaries making sure everything runs smoothly and efficiently. It can be a little stressful, but I'm getting the hang of it and am coming to love it. We even have our own small little office. If that's not a reason to love it I don't know what is haha.
Maybe a month ago Sister Brashaw and I were walking around the square at night and met this sweet little family. They're originally from Colombia but have been here for about a year now. That being said they spoke very little English and we ourselves knew even less Spanish (basically none for me). At one point Sis B put her little knowledge to the test and asked how old the young boy was. He responded in Spanish of course and I was left in the background counting on my hands trying to figure out what number he just said lol. Sadly Sis B got it first and without counting her fingers I might add. Sad day. That story probably sounds totally random, but I share it to emphasize my lack of understanding and capabilities in speaking and understanding Spanish. I blame my brother and friends who know Spanish and have neglected teaching me. How rude!! Anywaayyyys this past Sunday our friend Issa got baptized!!! It was ALL in spanish and OH MY GOODNESS FRIENDS!! I can't describe how amazing it was to join over zoom and watch the sweetest lady from Mexico get baptized. As she came out of the water she was filled with sooo much joy. So much joy that she literally tried to jump out of the font!! I'm not joking, they literally had to pull her back. Then when she was blessed and received the gift of the Holy Ghost instead of jumping up afterwards she just sat there with her eyes closed for a few minutes wanting to take every second in. When finally upon opening her eyes and standing up she just had the biggest smile....she was so full of joy and peace. It was as if Heavenly Father just gave her the biggest hug! She was so gracious and would continually share her testimony and thank everyone who came. At one point she said she had this piercing feeling in her chest but in the best way possible. A member who was watching commented that it was the spirit confirming what she was doing was right. To which Issa responded "Ooo I like it!" Ah I wish you all could have seen it. Although I understood literally none of it the spirit was so strong and my cheeks hurt so bad from smiling so much! I love this gospel and the pure and complete joy in brings into our lives!
If you ever need a prayer or just want to talk don't hesitate to reach out!
God is good!
