We Got Dumped By a Warlock

Hello!

Welp you heard it here first folks this week got dumped by a warlock :)). Haha long story wayyyyy short one of our friends we're teaching is a warlock. Pretty cool right?! He claims to have white and green magic (apparently that's the good kind) or earth magic as he most often refers to it. He had developed a testimony of the gospel and was preparing for baptism! He claimed him self to be an unofficial soon to be official member of the church. Unfortunately though we received a text from him this past week informing us that "he had a talk with his guides and they told [him] the truth about" us and basically all religion. Hence the whole dumping thing...yeah so that was nice.

In salt lake it's not unusual see homeless people scattered all around. As missionaries we're usually not encouraged to stop and give them money or really even food for that matter. Though today we couldn't help but stop. We were at Walmart and had just finished buying all of our groceries. We hopped in the car I started the engine and then headed off on our normal route home. Though as we approached the parking lot exit we saw a homeless man on the corner holding a sign looking for help. As we drove past him I waved and man I could physically see the pain in his eyes. :/ I continued driving but me and Sister Llorens were both effected by it. The best way we can describe it was that it just felt like the spirit was leaving us. In that moment we knew we needed to turn back. We made a big loop and as we circled back around you could tell he recognized us. We rolled down our windows and handed the best we could offer a bag of chips and this smoothie drink. He graciously accepted, thanked us, and explained that all of his family were members of the church. And that was about it I asked for his name told him it was nice to meet him and then we were off just as quick as we came. Now this isn't crazy or some amazing story, but it was something that just kept getting played over and over in my mind as we drove home. We don't know what that meant to him or if it even had any effect on him, but we do know that it was what God needed us to do.

Often times that's how it is when when we follow promptings. We just don't know if the seed we planted ever amounted to anything more. We often come up with excuses and ideas as to why we shouldn't follow through. BUT friends we could not arrive home feeling the way we did and I can't help but think what would have happened if we just kept driving and didn't look back. Theres a scripture in the Book of Mormon that say:

Ether 4:12 And whatsoever thing persuadeth men to do good is of me; for good cometh of none save it be of me. I am the same that leadeth men to all good; he that will not believe my words will not believe me—that I am; and he that will not believe me will not believe the Father who sent me. For behold, I am the Father, I am the light, and the life, and the truth of the world.

Trust in God, he trusts you! He truly is the light of the world and as we look to Him He will illuminate the path in which we should take.

God is good!
