From the Inside Out

This past week has been soooo stressful in the office! The week of transfers is crazy for us in and of itself, but on top of that we had tons of changes thrown at us. And all the while I was teaching my new companion how to do it all. It was the best...
Speaking of my new companion I love her! Her name is Sister Oaks and she's oh so stylish, a great cook, and literally the kindest human. Her original assignment is Brazil and she's been out for about 6 months. The days where we have lessons in both Portuguese and ASL are the best! It's so cool to watch the gospel be taught in so many different places and in 2 different languages. I feel so lucky!
Also, the weather here has been simply glorious lately. It's bringing me back to the summer :)). It's the best feeling to be outside with the sun out and having the best conversations about the gospel with absolute strangers. I love it! One of those conversations was with a guy who recently returned from serving his mission in Hungary. We learned about the hardships the people had experienced there, which led me to ask what it was like to see the change that took place in their lives when learning about the gospel. His answer was simple, he said that they just seemed lighter and that they just had this inner peace. And it got me thinking about Christ. He truly works with us from the inside out. That's what matters most and that's what makes the most change. The sweet peace that comes from Him surpasses any peace that the world offers. Centering our lives on Jesus Christ, we can always find peace and happiness no matter the circumstances. :)
