Pray With Friends
A scene from Rupunzel:
Mother Gothel: No no no, can't be. I distinctly remember, your birthday was last year.
Rupunzel: That's the funny thing about birthdays, they're kind of an annual thing.
Friends today is my birthday and I couldn't be more confused. I just had my birthday!! Though I guess its an annual thing? Who knew.
This was my last week working in the office!! Whooooo! Definetly bitter sweet, but excited to get back to more "normal" missionary work. Coming to the end of the transfer we've been pretty busy BUT it actually ended up working out so perfectly this week. Let me tell you why!! So we were planning to take time to walk around square at 2 pm to talk with people. Though as work increased we decided to push it back an hour and I am so glad we did. As we walked around we came across a woman sitting alone on a bench. We spoke a little and as we were about to leave my companion decided to ask if there was anything we could do for her or pray for her. With that she took a deep breath and with tears in her eyes expressed that a prayer would be wonderful. We told her we'd pray for her and then continued to talk with her. As we stood there I continued to have the thought that we should pray with her right then and there. I pushed it away for a while, but then I knew it's what God wanted me to do. So I asked and she welcomed the idea. Afterwards there was so much peace that followed. She was so thankful for the time we took with her and and for the prayer I offered. It was such a precious experience and it got me thinking. So often we tell someone we'll pray for them, but how often do we follow through. Saying we'll do something means nothing with no follow through. It was such a tender moment that Heavenly Father was able to use to teach me. There's so much love and power in praying together and in the moment. He love all of us and we can be apart in showing His love to others.
Transfers are also tomorrow which means I'll be getting a new companion and my new pday will be Thursday!
I hope you all have a great week! I miss you all!
