☆Not All Heros Wear Capes

Hello friends and family!

This week has been quite a long one but I definitely learned a lot and that's what counts, haha.

This week we gave another virtual tour to this amazing lady, the elders who were teaching her, and her friend who became a member about a year ago! Throughout the whole tour she just had tears in her eyes, overwhelmed by the peace and and messages we were sharing or should I say that the spirit was sharing with her. At the end, after encouragement from her friend she shared for the first time with us and the elders that she had recently decided that she wanted to get baptized!! It was such a cool moment and we were all so so excited for her.

Somehow this week Sister Cummard and I got locked out of our apartment. You see we came home for dinner and I went to put my key in and it just wasn't working! That sounds stupid but I promise there were multiple of us sisters who tried and yet the door would not open! Finally we called Elder Burkinshaw (he and his wife serve here in the office) and he came to save the day. He is literally the sweetest and not only did he bring us drinks but he also unlocked our door in about one minute. We were shocked, embarrassed, impressed, and honestly just relieved. He really did save the day! It really just goes to show that not all heroes wear capes :')

This week I read this talk by Elder S. Mark Palmer caller "Then Jesus Beholding Him Loved Him". It was really good. I highly suggest it. Anyways, he shared this scripture from Mark 10:21 that uses the phrase "Then Jesus beholding him loved him". He explained that beholding meant Jesus was looking so deeply and penetratingly into his soul, recognizing his goodness and also his potential, as well as discerning his greatest need. In all this he said something that I really liked. He said "anytime you feel you are being asked to do something hard...think of the Lord beholding you, loving you, and inviting you to let it go and follow Him. And thank Him for loving you enough to invite you to do more."  Wow! I just loved that and I hope you guys do too.

As usual - God is so good!

Love and miss you all!

So say hello to Sister Newby!!!
