Facebook Post - Pioneer Day
Last weekend we had the privilege of celebrating Pioneer Day in Utah. July 24th, 1847 was the day that the pioneers entered the Salt Lake valley. For those of you not familiar with this holiday, it is a huge celebration which rivals the 4th of July. Our missionaries were able to watch the huge parade that proceeded down South Temple right in front of their apartment. Several of them formed quite the cheering section for the parade entries which prompted enough attention that they earned a photo in the Deseret News!
We also had a group of 10 sisters that manned a water station in Emigration Canyon for the Days of ‘47 Marathon.
We also enjoyed a picnic lunch in Brigham Park catered by JDawgs.
This was all in addition to interacting with the thousands of guests that visited Temple Square during this time. They are all such incredible disciples of Jesus Christ and we love each and every one of them.
