Talking With My Hands
Friends it's Christmas!
Not actually, but if you remember from one of my emails last year then you'll know that Temple Square has already started to put up the Christmas lights!! In August! Crazy, but I am not complaining haha. This week has been great and I've gotten to sign with quite a few people on square which has been the absolute best. Yesterday we were sitting at one of the desks when a few girls just walked by signing. I quickly waved and they asked if I knew sign, and because I did they came to chat. I helped direct them as well as answer some of their questions. It was the perfect timing. This "luck" continued throughout the day when we decided to go talk to people on square when a scheduled lesson fell through. As we walked over, we were informed that there was a dad and son who were deaf and both members. They were on their way to the square and hoping to get a tour. When the sisters called to tell us this they asked if we would possibly have time. We just laughed because we knew it was meant to be. If the timing wasn't proof enough we later found another reason why. As we stood near the temple and visited we shared about the temple and some of our thoughts and the man soon found himself becoming emotional. The spirit was so strong and we found ourselves all feeling it. It was a tender mercy and a tender moment for sure!
Also this past Sunday we got to go to a church service in Bountiful where I was able to interpret for a woman who hadn't gone to church in a long while though had a desire to go now and partake of the sacrament. It was the coolest thing. We found out about this just that Saturday night so first thing in the morning we sent her a quick text but got no response. As the meeting approached Sister Morgan and I both felt like we still needed to go. So we did. As we arrived, we saw that she finally texted us back only to say she wasn't ready and wouldn't be able to make it. She was worried about coming late and didn't want to stick out. We were sad and really wanted her to come soooo we may or may not have nicely persuaded her to come anyways. It worked though and she did come! It was so perfect. The other members were so kind and so welcoming it was awesome. Towards the end she began to cry and then thanked me for coming all this way to interpret. I apologized for what may have been a little pushy and she stopped me saying, "no! thank you. I'm glad I came." Oh my heart. It made me so happy.
Heavenly Father is truly mindful of all His children.
God is good! :))
