The Temple Square Hallmark

Friends, we created some glorious memories this past week!

Starting with the General Conference this past weekend!! Oh my goodness friends I loved every single talk. They were all just so good! It's always so special to be so near to the leaders of the church though even more so when they gather together and speak. The messages were so inspired and truly brought peace to my soul! It was like a giant hug all weekend. We found so much emphasis in the fact that God is our loving Heavenly Father and as we develop trust in Him we can find peace, joy, and comfort to our souls.

These past few months our schedule has been packed with tours, shifts in the conference center and on historic temple square, as well as other tasks we have. With conference happening this past weekend they went ahead and closed the conference center for both the week before and the week after the meeting. That being said, our week has been a little empty. Our mission president decided to take advantage of the opportunity and told us we'd be going to the mountains! As we drove into American Fork Canyon it was an absolute dream. Straight out of a hallmark movie I kid you not. With the windy roads, colorful leaves on the trees with the light shining through, and the mountains surrounding us we could not ask for more. As I was driving I had to take the biggest mental picture ever! The hike itself was just as perfect. There was just so much beauty in one place! The food afterwards was also a plus ;).

It was such a breath of fresh air literally and metaphorically. Being surrounded by nature makes me feel so little but in a good way. It reminds me of the scripture in Psalms 46 that says, "Be still, and know that I am God". It helps me to remember that Heavenly Father is God and in control of all. He will take care of the things around and within me.

God is good!
